About Potterton boilers

Potterton, a well-established brand in the heating industry, traces its roots back to 1850 when Thomas Potterton established the company in Balham, London. Potterton entered the domestic market in 1902 with its first residential boiler, the “Victor”. 

The company continued to innovate, launching the UK’s first gas boiler, the “Diplomat” in 1955, and later introducing the first wall-hung boiler in 1970. 

Potterton boilers were acquired by Baxi Heating in 1999, Baxi Heating is now part of the BDR Thermea Group.

A lot of the modern Potterton range of boilers are essentially the same as the Baxi models.

Today Potterton is part of the Baxi group remains a market leader and is at the forefront of the domestic boiler technology, leading the industry in setting new standards and challenging technological boundaries.

Whilst Potterton boilers have been refined and simplified in terms of design over the years, they have also become increasingly sophisticated at the same time.
